Food Journal

Keeping track of what I was eating was one of the best things I did to get me on a healthier path. Knowing that meal from Del Taco was over 4,000 Calories before I ordered it was a game changer.

It lead me to researching more of what I was eating. To understand that a calorie isn’t just a calorie and that how I ate effected more than just my hunger levels. It changed my mood, my energy and how I felt through the day.

Keeping a journal is an easy first step. You can have everything out on the page. I’d do some prep and have it setup for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and snacks. I’d also include everything you drink.

I preferred the digital route and used MyFitness Pal. I was able to log everything and see all the nutrition elements in one place. It also allowed me to set goals and count workouts against my daily calorie intake.
